Jeep Patriot obtains new diesel engine (UK)

Jeep has reworked the Patriot compact SUV for 2011.

The 2011 Patriot receives modified trim levels and a new diesel engine. The 2.2 CRD diesel engine is taken from Mercedes, replacing the previous Volkswagen-sourced 2.0 TDI 138bhp. The new 2.2 CRD has a 23bhp increase.

Performance figures for the Patriot include a top speed of 125mph and 0-60mph time of 10.7secs. Jeep claims a combined fuel economy of 42.8mpg.

Four trim-levels are now available; Sport, Sport+, Limited and Overland. Entry-level Sport is equipped with body-coloured door handles and mirrors, hill-start assist w/ESP, leather handbrake and active front head rests.

Lower mid-spec Sport+ adds privacy glass, Bluetooth, auto-dimming rear-view mirror, leather steering wheel w/audio controls and cruise control over the base Sport.

Upper mid-spec Limited features leather handbrake and 6 way electrically adjustable driver’s seat.

Range-topping Overland model adds 18” aluminium wheels, leather interior w/’Overland’ logo, rear parking sensors and tyre pressure monitoring system.

The new Jeep Patriot range starts at £14,995 for the 2.4 Sport petrol, rising to £21,995 for the 2.2 CRD Overland.
